Palworld developer Pocketpair made a statement that will delight players. Accordingly, the game will not switch to the free-to-play (F2P) model, which was previously on the agenda, and will continue in the buy-to-play model.

Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe said in an interview a while ago that they were considering making Palworld a live service game like PUBG and Fall Guys. This worried those who wanted to buy and play the game.
However, in its latest statement, Pocketpair made it clear that Palworld will not go F2P. The studio stated that months have passed since the previous interview and the idea of a major change has been shelved. Accordingly, he emphasized that the game was not designed for F2P and that this change would require a lot of work.
Pocketpair said that they took player feedback into account and realized that a free pass was undesirable. The developer said that they will “always put players first” in their decision-making process.
Accordingly, Palworld will be available for purchase. However, Pocketpair said that optional DLCs and skins may be offered. No clear plans have been announced yet, and details will be shared in the future.
